MoF Must Ensure Proper Engagement In Accessing Climate Funds – Jonathan Gokah
Coordinator for Kasa, Jonathan Gokah has urged the Ministry of Finance to promote sufficient stakeholder engagement in order to provide adequate information on the Green Climate Fund to civil society organizations.
He went on to say that there has been very little monitoring and tracking of the climate funding in the country, with even the NDA battling the government for the funds. As a result, Kasa, as a non-governmental organization, has collaborated with other donor organizations on a national and international level to provide appropriate space for civil society organizations to access and track the country’s climate fund process.

He made the remarks at the national workshop and CSOs training on gender and social inclusion in GCF process in Ghana.
The two day workshop is part of Kasa Initiative Ghana and Care Ghana to implement the second phase of its GCF readiness project in Ghana (2021-2022).
The phase of the project in Ghana aims at enhancing capacities of CSOs towards Increased accountability and transparency of national authorities and implementing actors of GCF activities through participatory monitoring and evaluation.
